The Relay For Life of Waller is quickly approaching and this year will be dedicated to the memory of Cynthia Cox. Cox was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996, which metastasized to her lungs and brain. She endured a long and courageous battle that lasted for seventeen years. Many in the Waller community knew her for her involvement with Relay For Life and Kountry Kids 4-H. She is survived by her husband Paul and two children, Kaitlyn and Adam.
Organizers would like to line the entire track with luminarias to pay tribute to Cynthia. Luminarias can be purchased for $5.00 from any Relay participant or at www.relayforlife.org/wallercotx.
Relay For Life of Waller will be held May 3, beginning at 6 p.m. and concluding twelve hours later.
Relay is not a running event, it is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society where family and friends gather together to celebrate survivors, remember those lost and to fight back against cancer.
Survivors and caregivers may register at www.relayforlife.org/wallercotx. Contributions can be made at this site. If you would like to make a memorial in Cynthia's name, you can do so at the website or you may turn it in at the registration desk the night of Relay.
