The Tomball Rotary Club gathered at the home of member Jack Frey (right) for a special steak lunch, Sept. 19. The lunch was a way for the Rotarians to gather for something different and special after all their volunteer work throughout the year. The Tomball Rotary Club honored the February Students of the Month, during their weekly luncheon Feb. 13. Pictured (from left) are Tomball High School seniors Kyle Handler and Madelyn Jensen. Jensen plans to start her college career at Lone Star with plans to major in both cinema and special education, while Handler will head to the University of Texas, where he plans to study engineering.

Tomball Police Chief Robert Hauck was the guest speaker at the Tomball Rotary Club weekly luncheon Jan. 16. Hauck talked to Rotary members about the department's philosophies and how he has integrated his years of experience to build a department that strives to serve the community. City of Tomball Marketing Director Mike Baxter was the guest speaker at the Tomball Rotary Club luncheon Jan. 30. Baxter told Rotary members about plans for the 2013 festivals in Tomball. He also told members that the new efforts focusing on tourism have been successful in bringing new people to Tomball. Col. Kurt Leslie, commander of the maintenance group for the Texas Air National Guard's 147th Reconnaissance Wing, was the speaker at the Tomball Rotary Club Feb. 6. Leslie talked about the unmanned aircraft that his group maintains and flies in missions around the world. The Tomball Rotary Club meets every Wednesday at noon, at the Tomball Community Center.

The Tomball Rotary Club welcomed Joe Fauth III as their guest speaker, during their weekly luncheon Feb. 13. Fauth, a volunteer member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo speakers committee, talked about the upcoming rodeo and volunteer opportunities for next year's rodeo. Kira Sears-Elliott, the associate community executive director for the McWilliams YMCA in Cypress Creek, was the guest speaker at the Tomball Rotary Club weekly luncheon Feb. 20. Sears-Elliott talked about YMCA programs in Tomball, since the McWilliams YMCA provides the after school care programs for  TISD. Tomball Regional Medical Center CEO Bud Wethington was the guest speaker during the Tomball Rotary Club's weekly luncheon Mar. 6. Wethington talked about the hospital's plans for the future, including improvements, updates and planning for growth.
