Fields Store Elementary School students from Todd Nesloney's fifth grade class became doctors for a day, in order to learn new math skills. Dr. Nesbit taught the surgeons their math lesson using creative methods. Students received hands-on training when they inspected some "blood", made from red-dyed water, with gummy worm parasites floating in the bloody substance. The surgeons had to perform tasks such as measuring the worms and converting the measurements, measuring liquids.
