Law enforcement report for the Week of June 2

Tomball PD• June 2 Cpl. Patin arrested a 21-year-old man from Tomball, for Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of Marijuana. At approximately 3:10 a.m., Patin arrested the suspect for Driving While Intoxicated in the 1200 block of Rudel. During a search, Patin discovered marijuana in the suspect's vehicle.• June 3 Officer Rodriguez arrested an 18-year-old man from The Woodlands, for Possession of a Controlled Substance. At approximately 11 p.m., Rodriguez conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of W. Main and detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. On Father's Day, fathers, grandfathers and others who act as father figures are honored with barbecues, gifts and other family traditions. But for children in the foster care system, Father's Day can be a day of sadness. Removed from their homes due to evidence of abuse or neglect, these children spend Father's Day in foster homes, group homes, residential treatment centers and even psychiatric hospitals. Children in foster care rarely get to see their fathers on Father's Day. Too often, they do not get to see them or know them at all. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers can help…

TRHF awards grant to Lone Star College

Tomball Regional Health Foundation (TRHF) recently awarded Lone Star College-Tomball with $379,188, for support of the allied health programs at the college. The initial gift of $64,188 will be used to purchase equipment that will enhance instruction in LSC-Tomball's nursing and pharmacy technology programs. Later this year and for the next four years thereafter, the foundation will provide $63,000 to pay the salary and stipend for an Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) instructor.
