For nearly half a century now, the Tomball Rotary Club has filled up the springtime air with the smell of fried fish, during their annual fish fry fundraiser. April 26 will be that time once again, as members prepare for the 44th annual fish fry fundraiser at Juergens Park in Tomball. The Tribune will be partnering with Spring Fitness and Urban Cowgirl Dance Hall & Saloon, to hold a spring food drive benefitting the Magnolia Society of Samaritans (SOS) and Tomball Emergency Assist-ance Ministries (TEAM). The food drive will run the entire month of April and items can be dropped off at the Tribune office, 517 W. GTACC to hold annual golf classic

The Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its 35th annual Golf Classic, March 21, at High Meadow Ranch Golf Club, 37300 Golf Club Trail, in Magnolia. Shotgun start is at 12:30, with a golf ball drop for prizes that afternoon. Harris County Sheriff's Office investigators are seeking the public's help in identifying and locating a person of interest. The man is wanted for questioning in the Nov. 12, 2012 shooting death of Coty Beavers, 28, at his northwest Harris County apartment. Working from information provided by an eyewitness, an artist has sketched a likeness of the subject – a man with dark hair and thick dark eyebrows, wearing eyeglasses. Where there's smoke, there's fire and the trail of smoke in Magnolia March 22 and 23, will lead to more than 50 barbecue teams at Unity Park. The Greater Magnolia Chamber of Commerce will host its 19th annual barbecue cook-off, called the Magnolia Showdown. The Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce (GTACC) Golf Classic Golf Ball Drop will be held Mar. 21 at High Meadow Ranch Golf Club. At 5:30 p.m., a helicopter will drop numbered golf balls onto the driving range and the ball landing closest to the designated hole or in it wins the grand prize, a 50-inch FHD LCD TV.
