Tomball High School student, Joseph Coumos, recently signed a scholarship to dive for the University of Notre Dame. Coumos was a gymnast, but started diving two years ago. His specialties are the one meter and the three meter spring board. He plans to study mechanical or aerospace engineering in college.
Concordia Lutheran High School's Golf Team had a number of all-District honor recipients this season. Pictured are the members of the team (from left) Coach Honeck, Tommy Vicknair, Clint Walkup, Austen Christiansen, Sam Schroeder and Jordan Noack. Noack, Schroeder and Vicnair were all named all-District. Walkup received the Crusader Award, coming in second place at the District Tournament and also earning all-District honors. Sophomore, Austen Christiansen, came in second at the 5A State Tournament and received all-State Honors.
Tomball High School recently celebrated the news that several baseball players have signed to further their careers in college. Second grade student Kaitlyn Ripp (left) visited with her new teacher, Chereen Shoemaker, at Timber Creek Elementary. Ripp is among nearly 300 students to attend Timber Creek Elementary, which is Tomball ISD’s eighth and newest elementary campus. The school was built under Bond 2007 – Tomball ISD’s $198 million bond referendum.
The Tomball Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will be holding free training every Tuesday, Sept. 25 through Nov. 20 at 6:30 p.m., at the Tomball Fire Department, 1200 Rudel Rd. The eight-week course includes training in distrater preparedness, medical triage and treatment, disaster psychology, terrorism awareness, fire suppression, CPR training and light search and rescue. A Tomball couple received a surprise visit from the Houston Texans owners, after they discovered a connection between the team and the couples newborn baby. Al (middle left) and Hollie (middle right) Aranda, found out they were having a baby during the Texans postseason game last year. While attending a Texans game Sept. 9, Hollie went into labor while leaving Reliant Stadium. Their newborn son was born with a heart defect and was cared for at Texas Children’s Hospital. That’s where Texans owner Bob McNair (left) and his wife Janice (right) visited the couple recently.
Walk Tomball, celebrated it's fourth birthday with cake and awards.
