Tomball is on the move and keeping up with new businesses in the city can be a challenge. With that in mind, the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce (GTACC) First Friday networking luncheon, Oct. 5, will feature GTACC President Bruce Hillegeist with, Tomball’s Top 10 Newsmakers.
“Most days I receive calls and inquiries about a new business or businesses coming Tomball’s way,” Hillegeist said. “We are so fortunate to have such a strong regional economy, but major corporations calling Tomball their home and headquarters don’t happen by accident. There are many people and efforts that deserve our thanks, and this is what I’ll be talking about at the luncheon.”
In addition to Hillegeist’s presentation, Congressman Michael McCaul will be on hand to receive the Spirit of Free Enterprise Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. State Rep. Allen Fletcher will also be honored for his numerous achievements in the Texas Legislature, especially those involving local mobility projects.

Tomball Mayor Gretchen Fagan will present, "State of the City," when she addresses the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce First Friday Networking Luncheon, Feb. 1. Fagan has served as mayor of the City of Tomball since May 2007. She also served as a Council member from 2004 to 2007. Fagan and her husband, Michael, are owners of Farmers Insurance in Tomball.
Fagan promises her address will not be the "usual," despite its conventional title.
"From transportation and connectivity to new and revitalized businesses, we have so much going on in Tomball that I want to share," Fagan said. "This will be a fast-paced overview and look at what lies ahead."

Lone Star College System Vice Chancellor of External Affairs Ray Laughter and LSC-Tomball President Dr. Susan Karr will review the history of LSCS and describe how the upcoming bond election will impact future growth when they present, "Lone Star College System - Planning for the Future," at the Tomball Chamber of Commerce First Friday Luncheon on April 5.
Lone Star College System is the second largest community college in Texas with six colleges serving more than 85,000 students.

Bond 2013, a $160 million bond proposal which will appear on the May 11 ballot for voter approval will be the topic of the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce Networking Luncheon, May 3.
