The Waller Lady Bulldog volleyball team defeated Rudder (25-15, 25-14, 20-25, 25-21) Sept. 11 in district play. Senior Morgan Heise led the team with 15 kills and seven digs. Senior Taylor Thomas had 10 kills and seven digs for the week. Senior Billie Pringle led the team with 20 assists and junior Taylor Barkley added 12 assists. Lexi Huffman was named the varsity player of the week.
The junior varsity (JV) team defeated Rudder (25-21, 19-25, 26-24). The JV player of the week was Rachel Wood.
The sophomore team defeated the Waller 9B (25-15, 25-9) team. The sophomore team also played in the Columbus JV Tournament Sept. 13 and Sept. 15, falling to Weimar (14-25, 19-25), Columbus (11-25, 17-25), and Stafford (26-28, 25-15, 19-25). Megan Walker was named the Sophomore Player of the week.
The Freshman A team defeated Rudder (25-16, 25-15). Dena Hernandez was the Freshman A player of the week.
The Magnolia Lady Bulldogs have clinched their third straight district championship, after getting their 14th straight sweep of the season, defeating Bryan Rudder 25-19, 25-9, 25-9 in straight sets. The win improved the Lady Bulldogs overall record to 31-10 and 14-0 in District 18-4A.
The Tomball Lady Cougar volleyball team pose for a photo after winning their bi-district playoff game against Houston Milby, by a score of 25-13, 25-11 and 25-6 recently. Tomball advanced to the area round, taking on Santa Fe over the weekend. Results were not available as of press time. The Lady Cougars won another district championship this season, this time capturing the District 22-4A title.
The Waller High School Lady Bulldogs Varsity Volleyball Team clenched a 4A state playoff spot by placing second to Magnolia in District 18-4A. The team competed against Pflugerville Connally in their bi-district contest Oct. 30 and advanced to the next round, winning 26-24, 26-24 and 28-26. The Lady Bulldogs took on Mont Belvieu Barbers Hill in the area round over the weekend. Results were not available as of press time.
