Chris Brade and Cassidy Hurst, of country music duo Brade & Hurst, don't sleep much these days.
Full time jobs and traveling back and forth to their music shows takes up most of their time, leaving little room for rest and relaxation. The duo wouldn't have it any other way.
"We love what we do and we love performing together," said Brade.
Performing together for more than three years, Brade & Hurst will be bringing their music to Magnolia, when they perform at Urban Cowgirl Dance Hall & Saloon Nov. 30. They describe their style as energetic, with a mix of traditional and modern country sounds.
Hurst is a native of Montgomery and currently a preschool teacher, while Brade works for a large generator company. They spend their weeks traveling to various shows and hurrying back to make it to their full-time jobs. The two met when Brade was a solo artist performing at a bar near Magnolia.
"I was a solo act and this kid Cassidy came up to me and said that she had a band and would love to open for me," he said. "We kept in touch and eventually we were put together in a duo. I am so glad it worked out this way."
"We've found our niche and we mix perfectly," he added.
Hurst credits Brade with helping her develop as a musician.
"It's been an amazing experience," she said. "He has everything to do with helping me become the musician I am today. I feel comfortable performing with him and when you have someone next to you that's like a best friend it's great."
The duo has opened for country legends like Mark Chesnutt and Alan Jackson and are looking to release a six-pack of music sometime around the new year.
"We are also working on a brand new show for the beginning of the year and looking to incorporate our new songs and things that no one has heard yet," Brade said.
Brade said the upcoming show at Urban Cowgirl will showcase the work the duo has put into perfecting their craft.
"It's a show close to home, so being able to have local fans come will be great," he said. "It's going to be a lot of fun."
Urban Cowgirl general manager Nancy Nygaard said she is excited to have the up and coming duo perform at her place.
"They have a great and unique sound and perform so well together," she said. "I think everyone will have an amazing time, so I invite everyone to come out and see them."
Tickets are available at the door and the show will start at 9 p.m. For more information visit urbancowgirldancehall.com or call 281-259-6900.
