Waller Chamber names new office manager

plata The Waller Area Chamber of Commerce announced last week that Rhonda Plata has been named the new Office Manager for the Waller Area Chamber of Commerce, effective March 22.

She takes over the position that was recently left vacant after former Office Manager Rhonda Vickery was alleged to have stolen more than $40,000 from the Chamber over a period of time. An investigation into Vickery and the theft is currently being conducted by the Waller County Sheriff’s Office.

Plata graduated from Katy High School and attended Blinn and Texas A&M Universities studying business. Prior to accepting this position, Plata served as a Senior Technical Analyst for 13 years at ZEH Software providing customer support and training with a focus on Costumer Care. Some of her primary clients were Boeing, Daimler Chrysler, ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips along with many others.

Plata also serves as the President of the Holleman Elementary PTO, Secretary for the Waller County Sports Association and an adult leader for Waller County 4H Shooting Sports. She, her husband Raul, and sons Jared and Jacob are active members of Waller Baptist Church.

“I am confident that Rhonda will be an excellent match for this position and a strong asset,” Chamber President Trey Duhon said.
