Magnolia deaths ruled murder-suicide

Police are now reporting that a husband and wife found dead in a Magnolia home were victims of a murder-suicide. According to Lt. Bill Bucks of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, the husband, Fredrick Threet, 54, shot and killed his wife, Suzette Threet, 49, before turning the gun on himself early March 4.

The two were discovered by deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office lying dead in their home in the 2800 block of Elm Trace Drive after a family member called to request a welfare check.

Bucks said when Suzette Threet did not show up for work on March 4 and her employers could not contact her, they notified family members on her emergency contact list. Those family members went to the Threets' home to check on her and discovered both Fredrick's and Suzette's vehicles in the couple's driveway. However, her family could not gain entry into the home and notified police.

When police arrived, they could see the wife slumped over and unresponsive on a couch. Officers forced entry into the home and discovered the two bodies. A weapon was found near the bodies, a report stated.
