The following letters were obtained by the Tribune from open records requests submitted to the City of Magnolia. The e-mails include messages sent and received by City Administrator Ryan Kelley and City Secretary Debra Brent. Each week the Tribune will publish e-mails received in the requests. April 26, 2010 Mayor Jimmy Thornton And Magnolia City Councilmembers Dear Mayor and Council, At the conclusion of discussion during the executive session on Thursday evening April 22, I indicated my decision to resign as City Administrator of the City of Magnolia. I hereby request that my resignation be effective Monday, May 10, 2010. Additionally, and after much thought and conversation with a number of you, I respectfully ask any possible additional details regarding my resignation be contingent upon further discussion. April 26, 2010 To: Ryan Kelley Re: Your resignation on April 22, 2010 Dear Mr. Kelley, This letter confirms that on April 22, 2010, you verbally advised the City Council that you were resigning. The City council voted to accept your resignation effective immediately on April 22, 2010. Please be advised that your employment with the City ended on April 22, 2010. If you have not already, please turn in any city property to the City Secretary. Also, if you have not already, please schedule a time to come by City Hall to pick up any of your personal belongings.
