Houston man charged with rape of Magnolia boy

A Houston man has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old Magnolia boy, police say.

Jack Martin, 43, of Houston, has been charged with sexual assault of a child, according to Detective Clack of the Magnolia Police Department.

Clack said that on Oct. 24, Martin drove from Houston to Magnolia and picked up a 15-year-old male.

According to Clack, Magnolia police officer Jorge Anez was out on a routine drive through Magnolia when he noticed a suspicious vehicle. Anez searched the area and noticed two individuals in the woods unclothed.

Clack did not disclose if the two were involved in sexual intercourse. Martin was identified and apprehended while the juvenile was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital for medical attention.

Clack said the two were personal acquaintances.

“They had known each other ahead of time,” he said.

He described the event as consensual, but due to the age of the juvenile, he was unable to give legal consent.

Following his arrest, Martin was charged by the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office with sexual assault of a child. The prosecutor for the case is Tiana Sanford. Sanford was unable to provide details on the case because Martin has yet to be indicted.

Clack said there were three sexual assaults reported last year and so far two this year within Magnolia. This is the first incident involving two males.
