Police seeking suspects in abduction of Magnolia teen

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office investigators are still searching for three men they believe abducted a Magnolia teenager last week while the boy was riding his bicycle.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the young man was riding his bicycle along the road in the 32000 block of Green Bend Court in Magnolia at about 4 p.m. when a black Chevrolet four-door truck “with a lift kit and large tires” approached the boy.

The teen told deputies that the truck drove around him, stopped and three males wearing masks exited the truck, forced him off of his bike and into the truck.

The victim reported that he was taken to an unknown location where he fled his captors and ran to a convenience store in the 31000 block of FM 2978 where he called his family and police.

Lt. Dan Norris of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said the boy was in the truck with the three men for about 15 minutes and it was unclear what they wanted with him. The teen was unharmed in the incident, Norris added.

The victim described the suspects as two white males and one black male. One of the white males was described as being muscular in build, while the other was thin, with both wearing black shorts and white T-shirts.

The black male was described as having a thin build and wearing blue sweatpants with a black stripe down the side and a long sleeve black shirt.

Norris said deputies searched the area on the ground by foot, in the air and with K-9 units, but the suspects remained at large at press time. He added that investigators have processed the young man’s bicycle for clues.

“At this point, we have been unable to find any evidence,” he said. “However, the case remains open.”

Anyone with information regarding this case can contact Det. Brent Akins at 281-297-6510 or the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 936-760-5800, option No. 1.

Anonymous tips may be reported to Montgomery County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-STOP (7867).
