Residents who wish to seek a place on the ballot will be able to apply until March 14. Applications began Feb. 14. Brown said as of Feb 28 no applications for opposition against either board member had been received.

In the event that a board member is opposed, neither district or county mandate a debate or forum. However, Brown said typically the Magnolia Area Chamber of Commerce will host a “Meet the Candidates” luncheon where candidates discuss their plan and answer questions.

The last day to register to vote is April 14. Early voting will begin May 2 and end May 10.
