Police find drugs, illegal wild game at Magnolia home

moco bust Tips suggesting a Magnolia residence was trafficking narcotics, involved with money laundering and possibly harvesting illegal wildlife led Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies to a home on Camilla Court in Decker Woods.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office’s Special Investigations Unit, assisted by the Texas State Game Wardens and Montgomery County Auto Theft Task Force detectives, executed a search warrant at a residence on Camilla Court on May 5.

Although no arrests have been made, the Sheriff’s Office seized many items related to illegal trafficking.

According to a press release, several ounces of powder cocaine, crack cocaine, ecstasy, Xanax, hashish and marijuana were seized at the home. Scales, firearms, electronic money counters and currency were also seized.

The Sheriff’s Office confiscated a Mustang convertible, Chevrolet Tahoe, Suzuki motorcycle, two flat bed trailers, computers and other items found on the property used as trafficking illegal contraband.

Game wardens seized evidence of possible wildlife hunting violations.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Philip Cash said the residence was believed to be harvesting wildlife out of season, which is a hunting violation.

There were no residents present at the home during the search, but the Sheriff’s Office has multiple suspects.

“We have suspects and we are working with the DA to get them possibly prosecuted,” Cash said. “We are seeking warrants for multiple defendants.”

Cash said the Sheriff’s Office had been receiving tips about the home for a while. The owner of the home is relevant to the possible suspects, according to Cash. However, he declined to name the suspects pending the investigation.

Cash said the Sheriff’s Office is currently working with the Montgomery County DA to present the case to the grand jury.
