|
Cody James Ross, 22, had been asked to leave the Red River Dance Hall located on SH 249 several times on Oct. 16. He refused to exit and became argumentative, according to a HCSO spokesperson. About 2:25 a.m., when Ross finally exited the building, he drove his truck to the front of the building and allegedly began yelling explicit words toward deputies at the front door of the bar. He then fled the scene. Deputies began their pursuit, trying to stop Ross. Leaving the dance hall, Ross drove south toward Northpointe Dr. Ross then u-turned and proceeded to turn east on Spring Cypress. HCSO spokesperson said while on Spring Cypress Ross took several detours. He turned on Klein Church Drive and Champions Forest Drive, but he returned to Spring Cypress and continued east. He continued traveling to I-45 where he began driving north. HCSO officers deployed a spike strip on I-45 which was unsuccessful in stopping Ross. As Ross approached FM 1488 he exited and began traveling west. DPS Troopers, Magnolia Police Department, Shenandoah Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Montgomery County Constable’s Office assisted in the pursuit. Another spike strip was deployed on FM 1488 at Lake Windcrest Drive. HCSO spokesperson said as the vehicle’s tires deflated he swerved and crashed into the ditch. Ross allegedly exited his vehicle and proceeded to evade officers on foot by running into the woods. Officers could not find Ross, but his vehicle was towed. HCSO spokesperson said Ross turned himself in at a later date. He was charged with Felony Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle. Comments (1)

He should be charged with stupidity as well. Dollar to a donut says he has a bright future in the State prison system.
