THS senior Easley named Miss Tomball 2012

miss tomball The 46th annual Miss Tomball Pageant, which drew nearly 1,000 guests, crowned Tomball High School (THS) senior Lacey Renee Easley as Miss Tomball 2012.

Easley, who was second runner-up in last year’s Miss Tomball pageant, was one of 42 contestants who competed for the title at Salem Lutheran Church in Tomball Nov. 19.

“The whole moment was so surreal and humbling,” she said. “There were so many beautiful and genuine girls up there, so many could have won.”

Easley has lived in Tomball for about 11 years. She moved to Tomball from Houston and she says Tomball has become a significant part of her life.

“I love Tomball. It is a huge part of my heart,” she said.

Easley said she and her mother have attended every Miss Tomball Pageant since she moved to Tomball. She said she has always looked up to the women chosen as Miss Tomball.

“That’s the girl I looked up to,” she said.

At THS, Easley is a member of the Health Occupations Students of America, where she has made it to nationals, and a member of the Science Honor Society. She leads a bible study at Tomball Jr. High and another at her church.

Prior to being crowned, announcers Sonia Azad and Robert Laudau asked Easley what three qualities she possessed that would make her a good role model to young women. She answered that she was passionate, a servant and encouraging.

Easley said she presents herself the same on stage as in person. She added that her choice of words best reflected her.

“I truly got to be myself,” she said.

Now, being crowned Miss Tomball 2012, Easley says she is ready to serve and see the needs of Tomball.

“I am ready to be an example,” she added.

Judges of the pageant selected 11 semi-finalists. Then, of the 11 semi-finalists, six finalists were chosen.

“This was an unusual pageant in regards to the level of competition,” Miss Tomball Chair Sandy Krug said. “Even the judges acknowledged this with their selection of 11 semi-finalists and six finalists.”

The finalists were, first runner-up, Hannah Plucheck; second runner-up, Ariana Goetz; third runner-up, Rachel Lee; fourth runner-up, Taylor Rachel Farrell and fifth runner-up, Kristen Haney. Lydia Longoria was also voted Miss Congeniality by her fellow contestants.

As Miss Tomball, Easley will work with the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce as an ambassador.

“We congratulate Lacey on her success and are looking forward to working with her this next year as she represents the chamber and the city,” Krug said.
