Tomball man in jail after skipping bail

jorge trujillo A Tomball man with a long criminal history in a short amount of time found himself behind bars again, after allegedly jumping bail.

Jorge A. Trujillo, 24, was caught earlier this month, after missing an October court date for charges of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, court documents show.

According to court records, Trujillo was free on bond from charges that he was breaking into cars in Harris County in March and was confronted by a neighbor. Trujillo then allegedly showed a gun to the neighbor before feeing on foot. He was also free on bail from December 2010 charges of forgery for allegedly cashing stolen checks. Trujillo’s bond was revoked and raised twice in the forgery case for using or possessing a controlled substance or alcohol.

Court records show a long history of criminal activities for Trujillo, including a charge for escape that was dismissed for lack of evidence. He spent six months in state prison in 2010, after breaking conditions for an adjudicated sentence for possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute in 2007.

According to the affidavit filed for the aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon charge, another man called deputies after he saw a seond man rummaging through his toolbox in his truck. He then saw another man and a female standing in the street checking for unlocked cars.

The victim then found the female crouched between two vehicles in a neighbor’s driveway and confronted her.

“(The female) then knocked on the window (of one of the vehicles). (The victim) then stated that (Trujillo)…got out and started reaching into his pocket, exposing the butt of a revolver,” the statement said. “(The victim) said that (Trujillo) then attempted to take the gun out of his pocket.”

The victim also stated he told Trujillo not to take his weapon out or he would be forced to shoot him. Trujillo then allegedly grabbed the female and yelled at the other man and they attempted to drive off. The victim stated that their vehicle stalled, so the three took off on foot.

Deputies found court documents belonging to Trujillo inside the vehicle and the victim pointed him out in a photo lineup.

Trujillo was arrested, pleaded not guilty and was freed on bond. Following a failure to appear for a court date in October, a warrant was placed for his arrest.

Trujillo was arrested again Nov. 7 and has been in the Harris County Jail since that time. No further bond has been set in the case.
