| Body found just east of Tomball |
|
UPDATE: (1:15 p.m., Jan. 4) Medical examiners from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Science have now identified the body found Monday morning near Tomball. Officials say the body is that of Brooks Dietrich Bierwirth, 33. Bierwirth's Facebook accounts lists him as a resident of The Woodlands, however recent court papers list Bierwirth's address in Spring. Bierwirth has a criminal history with drugs and alcohol. He was arrested and convicted of Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of Marijuana in 2010. He received probation in that case, but it was revoked in March of 2011, after Bierwirth plead guilty to possessing hydrocodone and received a total of 30 days in the Harris County Jail. Montgomery County records show Bierwirth was convicted in a string of car burglaries in 1995, when he was 17. Investigators would not speculate as to whether his prior drug history played a role into his death.
