| Tomball officer hurt while trying to stop backseat tryst |
|
A Tomball teen now faces felony charges, after police allege she ran over an officer while fleeing. Officer Kristina Tikal suffered a fractured scapula, an elbow injury, hip injury and multiple abrasions in the incident. Police say the 17-year-old woman was caught by Tikal near Baker Road, partially nude and about to engage in sexual activites in a parking space, as Tikal was heading to work. “While in full uniform, leaving her place of residence she noticed a vehicle parked in a parking space with the rear door left open,” court documents state. “(Tikal) stated that she approached the vehicle and overved a male’s feet extending from the backseat of the vehicle. (Tikal) stated that (the male’s) shorts were down to his ankles and ordered him out of the vehicle and to get dressed.” The statement goes on to say that Tikal then noticed the teen in the backseat as well, without pants and she ordered both of them to dress and sit in the backseat. Tikal then radioed for on-duty assistance, when the teen jumped from the back seat into the driver seat and started the car. Documents state that Tikal ordered the woman to turn off the vehicle twice when suddenly the teen put the car in reverse. The woman then accelerated and the open door of the vehicle hit Tikal, knocking her to the ground, about 10 feet away. “(Tikal) stated that the defendant struck a parked vehicle while reversing, then put her vehicle in drive and fled without stopping,” the statement said. A Tomball detective received an anonymous tip who gave him the name of the teen involved. The detective drove to the woman’s house where he said he observed damage to a vehicle consistent with what happened earlier. Court records also state that the woman was confronted at Tomball High School by police and agreed to an interview at the police station, along with her mother. She eventually admitted to the allegations. “The defendant stated that (Tikal) walked up on her and (the man), prior to having sex, so the defendant got scared, panicked and drove off,” the statement read. “The defendant stated that she knew she struck the pickup truck, but didn’t know that (Tikal) was struck.” The teen was charged with Aggravated Assault against a Public Servant and Evading Arrest and Detention with a Vehicle. She is free on $35,000 bond.
