Single vehicle accident claims first auto fatality in Tomball in ‘09

According to the Tomball Police Department, Wirth was traveling along Tomball Parkway at approximately 10:50 p.m. when he lost control of his 2008 Dodge Dually and crashed into a wooded area along the highway as he attempted to enter onto Tomball Expressway.

Wirth was the only occupant of the vehicle. EMS personnel responded to the scene and administered care to Wirth, Tomball PD reported. He was transported by Northwest EMS to Tomball Regional Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Tomball Police reported that Wirth’s body was taken to the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

Officials with the Tomball Police Department are also conducting an investigation.

Tomball ISD spokesperson Staci Stanfied said Wirth was a former Tomball High School student.

According to the Tomball PD, a total of four traffic-related fatalities were reported in Tomball in 2008.
