The event will be held at the West Montgomery Community Center, located at 31355 Friendship Drive in Magnolia.

The MEF is a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide a support system for the Magnolia Independent School District by securing funds to provide grants for MISD teachers.

Foundation President Chris Jones said this year’s event is going to be “a lot of fun for a good cause.”

“There will be fun games to play, great entertainment and some amazing food,” he said.

Since 2001, the foundation has granted almost $300,000 in grants to teachers within the Magnolia Independent School District.

“We have been blessed and have been able to give out a little over $45,000 in grants so far this year,” Jones said. “The great thing about our foundation is that every penny earned at these fundraisers goes right back into MISD schools.”

2009 will mark the foundation’s seventh year in providing grants to teachers.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for dinner and the gaming will start at 6:30 and continue to 9:30 p.m. A prize giveaway will follow after the games.

Tickets for admission to the fundraiser are $50 and include a steak dinner and casino gaming chips. Tickets will be available at the door the night of the event.

Money raised from this event will also be used to fund the Shattered Lives Program for juniors and seniors at Magnolia and Magnolia West High Schools.
