SUBJECT: water well # 1

On July 28^th Mark Garner, found the run time hours for water well # 1 were elevated and the production was down. He then proceeded to calculate the gallons per minute and learned the well was no longer putting out 165 gpm but was now producing only 65 gpm. Mark contacted Dennis the operations supervisor and made him aware of the problem. Dennis then made arrangements for Kerry Johnston of Johnston’s water wells to come out and trouble shoot the situation. Kerry found the issue to be down hole and will require pulling the well to trouble shoot any further. It will cost approximately $3,500.00 to pull the well. Water well # 1 is the smallest well the City operates and will not have any effect on the drought contingency plan. Attached you will find a copy of the latest well report completed just a few weeks prior to the well failing. On the report you will find the gpm, size, efficiency and a number of other things if you have any questions about it please do not hesitate to call.
