| Checking Magnolia’s E-mails – Jan. 18 |
|
The following are copies of e-mails obtained by the Tribune from outside sources and open records requests submitted to the City of Magnolia. The e-mails include messages sent and received by City Administrator Ryan Kelley, Mayor Jimmy Thornton, City Secretary Debra Brent, City Council member Patsy Williams and Finance Clerk Beverly Standley. Each week the Tribune will publish e-mails received in the requests. City e-mails and records are available to the public through the Texas Public Information Act. To view more e-mails, visit tribunenews.com.
(Editor’s Note: The following e-mail was in response to an e-mail sent by former City Marshal Jeri Carpenter regarding concerns over the city’s Web site.) FROM: Debra Brent, City Secretary DATE: December 22, 2009 TO: Jeri Carpenter SUBJECT: Re: (no subject) As far as the City Calendar there is nothing there that relates to the City except Christmas and new years which will be placed back on there before the day is out, I am in the process (sic) updating some things.
Jerry how about you looking (sic) at the 2010 calendar, I'm sure you will find what you need. And your (sic) right I do not know anything about the web except what I have taught myself. LuAnn was suppose (sic) to train me, but she never did, but that is ok I will learn. The only thing I can be is sorry for you and the people around you that are so bitter they can't enjoy life.
As I told LuAnn once, I hope God never allows me to be filled with so much hate of my fellow man that all I can do is tear down people instead of trying to lift them up. There is enough saddness (sic) in the world without me adding to it. Besides you chose to move out of Magnolia, why don't you get involved in the town you live in and try to do some good. I always thought you were a very nice person, but I'm seeing what LuAnn always told me about you is apparently true.
Anyone that wants to find me knows where I am, they don't have to depend on a web page to contact me.
Good luck to you in the future.
