City of Tomball readies 2nd Annual Bunny Run

It’s a chance to burn off all the Easter chocolate, as the Tomball community comes together for the City of Tomball’s 2nd Annual 5K Bunny Run on Saturday, April 10, presented by 24 HR Emergency Room.

“We are proud to be working with the City of Tomball to sponsor this event for avid runners and families in the greater Houston area,” said Dan Middlebrook, regional medical director of 24 HR Emergency Room. “It’s important to everyone’s health that we lead active lifestyles.”

The 5K kicks off at 8 a.m. for runners and walkers and a 1M fun run starts at 8:45 a.m. for kids. The 5K course is certified by U.S.A. Track & Field. Both runs begin and end at the Historic Tomball Depot Plaza at 201 S. Elm St. in Tomball.

Early registration forms are available online at www.ci.tomball.tx.us.  Early discount registration is $15 for the 5K and $10 for children for the 1M. Discount registration ends March 26.  Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age group and all kids participating in the 1M will receive a special medal. All participants in the run will receive a T-shirt if they register in advance.

Proceeds from the event will benefit local charities in the greater Tomball area.

The Bunny Run will be held in conjunction with Tomball’s 2nd Saturday at the Depot event, which starts at 5:30 p.m. There will be an egg hunt, music and a family-friendly outdoor movie
