LSC holds groundbreaking ceremony for new health science facility

Elmer Beckendorf (left), Lone Star College System Chancellor Richard Carpenter (center) and Mayor Gretchen Fagan (right) talk during Lone Star College-Tomball’s groundbreaking ceremony held April 23 for its new health science building across the street from Tomball Regional Medical Center. The 60,000 square foot building will be located near Tomball Regional Hospital and will serve and elevate the medical vocation instruction in various areas such as surgical technology, occupational therapy, nursing, continuing education and pharmacy. The three story, $17.5 million facility is expected to be completed in June 2011.
