Seminar aimed at helping businesses understand reform bill

In order to help local business owners better understand the impact the 2010 Health Care Reform act will have on their business, the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce will host a special seminar, “Health Care Reform and Its Impact on Business” June 17 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at AmegyBank of Texas in Tomball.

Rocky Alexander of Petra Benefits Financial Services, LP will be the guest speaker. Alexander is the owner and general partner of Petra Benefits in Tomball. He has 17 years of experience advising individuals and companies by specializing in the design, implementation and service of employee benefit packages, as well as financial planning with a focus on retirement.

Lynn LeBouef, president and CEO of Tomball Regional Medical Center, will also be on hand to give additional insight. LeBouef has worked in health care services for more than 30 years and has been part of the Tomball medical center management team since 1978.

Alexander will discuss, analyze and offer advice concerning the impacts of health care reform in the near, mid and long term. He will cover the current planned timeline of health insurance coverage changes, business and personal mandates, tax changes and more. This law will have an impact far beyond health care and health insurance.

The seminar will be in the meeting room on the second floor of AmegyBank of Texas, 28201 Tomball Parkway. Seating for this free seminar, sponsored by the GTACC Government and Legislative Affairs Committee, is limited to 30.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with a continental breakfast. RSVP is encouraged for pre-registration by contacting the Chamber at 281-351-7222 or visiting TomballChamber.org. Registration in person before the June 17 seminar is available at GTACC’s offices, located at 29201 Quinn Rd., Ste. B.
