Salem Lutheran High School Ministry, DEFY, received a Citation of Honor by the United States Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Battallion-East, Marine Detachment-BAMC. The honor was presented by Jerry Reed, President/Executive Director of Operation Military Embrace to Josh Duffy, Salem Student Ministry Director, on July 18.

The letter from Lt. Col David Barnes, Marine Detachment-BAMC reads, “The Marine Detachment of Brooke Army Medical Center would like to thank you for your generous support of our wounded, injured and ill Marines and their families that are recovering and rehabilitating at the Wounded Warrior Detachment-BAMC located in San Antonio, Texas. Our Marines are very fortunate to know such patriotic Americans as you and the wonderful people of your organization. We appreciate the time you took to plant the trees and beautiful flowers around the Marine Annex. They have definitely given our building the look that it needs to portray what Wound Warrior Regiment stands for. Once again, thank you for your unselfishness and for your contributions that have touched each Marine in a unique way.”
