| New Republican Women’s group to host noted GOP speaker |

A newly-formed organization in Tomball, the Tomball Republican Women’s Club, will host Melinda Fredericks, Vice Chairperson of the Republican Party of Texas, (RPT) Wednesday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. in room L129 of Lone Star College-Tomball. Fredericks was elected Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas at the 2010 State Convention. From 2000-2008, she served on the State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) representing Senate District 4, and was appointed by Chairman Tina Benkiser to chair the SREC Ballot Security Subcommittee in 2004. In 2001, RPT Chairman Susan Weddington awarded Melinda with the “Seed Sower” Award for her work as an SREC member. Over the years, Fredericks has volunteered for numerous campaigns, including serving as a regional chairman for Susan Combs for Comptroller, steering committee member for Governor Rick Perry’s, Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples’, and Justice David Gaultney’s campaigns, as a Montgomery County co-chair for Senator Cornyn’s and Lt. Governor Dewhurst’s campaigns and as the 2008 Montgomery County Victory chair. The Tomball Republican Women’s Club is a member of both the Texas Federation of Republican Women and the National Federation of Republican Women.
