Chester is a 2 ½-year-old male terrier mix. He has been at Abandoned Animal Rescue for more than a year. He is a special needs dog who walks with a limp. When Chester was found, he and his buddy were being kicked out of a car in Magnolia behind the Thousand Oaks subdivision. When he was brought to the shelter, he favored his back leg and was taken to the vet. X-rays showed that his femoral head bone was broken away from the femur. Chester needed surgery to remove his femoral head bone. He is very affectionate once he knows he can trust you. His foster mother says an easy way to gain his trust is through treats and sweet talk. Although he weighs about 40 pounds and needs to be kept on a special light diet to keep his weight down, so he can’t have too many treats. Chester is a laid back, mellow guy who is looking for a laid back environment. He enjoys being inside with the family on his place on the couch. He likes watching TV while lying in your lap. Chester is house trained and would prefer not being in a crate. He is good with dogs and cats, but no small kids because they may further injure his leg. For more information about Chester, call Abandoned Animal Rescue at 281-290-0121, visit aartomball.org or e-mail
