| Tomball STAGE preps for first performance of season |
|
The Tomball STAGE – Tomball High School’s Theatre Arts Department – recently announced its first production of the 2010-11 season. The season will kick off with The Foreigner by Larry Shue.
While visiting a fishing lodge in rural Georgia, a pathologically shy young British man named Charlie is overcome with fear at the thought of making conversation with strangers. His friend tells all assembled that he is from an exotic foreign country and speaks no English. Once alone, the fun really begins as Charlie overhears more than he should. Many damaging revelations are made with the thought that Charlie does not understand a word being said. That fuels the non-stop hilarity of the play and sets up the wildly funny ending.
Performances of The Foreigner will be held at the Tomball High School Auditorium, 30330 Quinn Road, on Sept. 23, 25 and 27 at 7:30 p.m. Matinee performances are scheduled at 3 p.m. on Sept. 24-25.
Information can be found and tickets may be purchased online at www.tomballstage.org. Advance tickets will be available Sept. 13 at noon for $8. Tickets sold prior to the show on the performance day will be $10. Tickets sold at the door will be $12.
