Magnolia/Tomball YMCA names Volunteer of the Year

ymca voy Each year the Magnolia/Tomball YMCA recognizes an outstanding volunteer for his or her generosity of spirit, hard work and compassion for others. Last week, the YMCA announced that Ryan Penrose was named Volunteer of the Year.

Penrose was presented with his award at the YMCA of Greater Houston’s Annual Celebration on Thursday, Dec. 2 at the Houston Texans YMCA. He joined 36 others, each representing an individual YMCA center, camp or special program.

“Ryan has been volunteering for us as a Youth Sports Coach for over three years,” said Kira Sears-Elliott, Magnolia/Tomball YMCA Executive Director. “His teams have always demonstrated the core values, teamwork and outstanding sportsmanship. Season after season, parents beg to be on his team. Ryan is such an encouraging, passionate coach and has been an example for all our youth sports coaches and parents.”
