AAR Pet of the Week

wookie Wookie is a 4-month-old male Pomeranian mix. He has not been so lucky in life and was born with what Abandoned Animal Rescue volunteers think are neurological problems. For some reason he was a little stiff when he walked and could not raise his head very well. The volunteers also thought he could not see very well. A couple of veterinarians gave their opinion and now it’s just a waiting game to see if he will grow out of it. Wookie was recently neutered and, lo and behold, he is doing much better. He is a special needs guy who still walks with a little swagger and does not seem to be in pain. He loves to play with other dogs because they seem to give him great comfort, so he needs another dog in the family who is gentle, but likes to play. He also needs a family with no small kids, because they may not understand him and might hurt him. In addition, on Saturday, April 16, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., The Village at Gleannloch Farms on Spring Cypress is hosting an adoption day and barbeque with the proceeds being donated to Abandoned Animal Rescue.
