Abandoned Animal Rescue Pet of the Week |
|
Abby is a 10-month-old female Shepherd mix. Her story is like so many other pets that are brought to animal shelters around the country that only have a certain amount of time to live before they pass away. Abby was a few days away from going to doggie heaven, but she was in the right place at the right time. Abby and her buddy were two of the lucky ones. Although they were not adopted at the end of an adoption day, they were saved by a devoted animal lover. The owner kept them for a while until she could relocate Abby to a no-kill animal shelter. Abby weighs about 32 pounds and will not get any larger. She is a happy girl when she knows she can trust you. When you first meet her she is a little leery, but soon opens up when she knows you are not going to hurt her. Abby likes attention and has plenty of energy, so she would love another dog to play with. She likes to play fetch and get belly rubs. She is good with dogs, kids and most likely cats if they show her who’s boss. Abby is now crate trained and likes to watch TV while she falls asleep. Give this girl, who almost did not have a chance at life, another chance.
