Boy Scouts aid Joplin relief effort |
|
Boy Scout Troop 113 gathered June 4 at the corner of SH 249 and FM 2920 to help load and collect items for tornado victims in Joplin, Mo. Through the efforts of Troop 113, support of Packs 1213, 113 and 471, and the donations by the Tomball community, Troop 113 collected more than $10,000 in cash or matching donations, in addition to donated goods to help the victims in Joplin. A semi trailer full of goods arrived in Joplin on June 7, where it was unloaded and the goods distributed to the community. Pictured, parents and Scouts in Troop 113 flag down passing vehicles to encourage drivers to donate.
