AAR Pet of the Week |
|
Mercury is a 4-month-old female Lab. She was sleeping under a boat trailer and the driver was unaware she was there and ran over her. Volunteers at Abandoned Animal Rescue had her x-rayed by a local veterinarian who referred him to Texas A&M University. Mercury needed help as soon as possible. She was admitted to A&M and underwent orthopedic surgery. The surgery included a right side femoral head and neck ostectomy procedure and a right femur fracture repair where a plate was put in her leg. Mercury was able to have the surgery because an AAR supporter was able to pay some of the $2,600 bill. Mercury is doing very well and will have to have rehabilitation therapy and be crated for six weeks to recover. If anyone would like to help with the rest of Mercury’s medical bill by donating spare change, it all adds up. Send check by mail to Abandoned Animal Rescue, 419 East Hufsmith, Tomball, TX 77375, or donate online at aartomball.org by clicking Donate Paypal.
