Ren Fest announces audition dates for 2009 event

The Texas Renaissance Festival announced last week auditions for its 2009 season to be held May 2 and May 9. Entertainers of all types are needed. Bilingual actors are especially welcome. Characters sought are fairies and peasants, as well as the loftier positions of Lords and Ladies in the King’s Court.

Experience is helpful but not required.  All performers are paid a stipend.  The festival will be held Saturdays and Sundays from Oct. 10 until Nov. 29, with the addition of a special Thanksgiving Friday on Nov. 27 and two School Days on Oct. 27 and 28.

The festival is located at 21778 FM 1774 in Plantersville, north of Magnolia.

There will be two sessions of auditions each day at 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Specialty acts such as musical groups, jugglers, singers, acrobats, dancers, magicians, and comedians will be auditioned during the first part of each session.
