MWHS student help Lyon Elm. prepare for back-to-school |
|
Students from Magnolia West High School volunteered to help Lyon Elementary prepare for a new school year. Dakota Stormer, a student from Magnolia West, organized a group of willing and helpful students to volunteer. With help from his former teacher, Julie Sustala, the group set up a way for students to give back to their community and help teachers. The group of volunteers did work ranging from cutting lamination to moving furniture. They plan to join the Interact club and create a recycling program at their high school and they hope to expand the program to Lyons Elementary. Although the group worked solely at Lyon Elementary, as their club grows and they raise awareness of service opportunities, they can grow to help other local schools prepare for the years to come.
