The Tomball Rotary Club is currently selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a 1956 Ford Mustang (pictured) at its annual Fish Fry, scheduled for April 24 at Juergens Park in Tomball at 5 p.m. Raffle tickets are available for a $100 donation to the club and are available by calling 281-351-4040 or at Klein’s Super Market. The money raised through the fish fry and the sale of raffle tickets will go toward the Rotary Club’s charitable efforts.
Former Channel 11 weatherman Dr. Neil Frank was the guest speaker at the March 18 meeting of the Tomball Rotary Club. Frank discussed the causes of hurricane activity and the effects of hurricanes along the Gulf Coast. Frank also said that if Hurricane Ike had been labeled a Category 3 based on pressure instead of a Category 2 based on wind speed on the Thursday before it hit, more people would have evacuated and more lives would have been saved.
