AAR Pet of the Week |
|
Duke is a 3 ½-year-old male Smooth Coated Collie. He had been seen hanging around an apartment complex for about five days and a good Samaritan felt sorry for him and brought him to AAR. Duke is a big, handsome guy who is eager to please. He is mild mannered, sweet and friendly. He is good with everyone he meets and he is good with most dogs, but not cats. Duke is a mellow guy who just likes to hang out and have good conversation with people. He loves attention, praise, knows some basic commands and walks well on a leash. He might be house trained because he keeps his kennel run spotless. Duke had heartworms when he came to AAR, but has been treated, so he must be kept on heartworm preventive. It only takes one mosquito infected with the heartworm larvae to bite a pet and if not treated it affects the pet’s vital organs. Many animals die from the disease. Abandoned Animal Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter located at 419 E. Hufsmith in Tomball. For more information about Duke, call Abandoned Animal Rescue at 281-290-0121, or email aarescue03@yahoo. For more information about AAR, visit www.aartomball.org.
