The Waller High School Box of Stars Theatre Directors Carrie Wood and Amy Wernig directed Seussical, an imaginative re-telling of Horton Hears a Who and other popular Dr. Seuss stories Nov. 10-12. Among the cast of characters was Horton, played by junior Mason Hamlet; JoJo, played by junior Kala Singleton and, of course, the Cat in the Hat, played by senior Cody Hoeppner. The cast also included junior Yndalecia Ojeda as the Sour Kangaroo, freshman Jessica McGrew as Gertrude McFuzz, senior Kaylon White as Mayzie, senior Tyler Bacon as Mr. Mayor and junior Heather Snow as Mrs. Mayor. A chorus of conniving Monkeys, tiny Whos, mystified Jungle Citizens and sassy Bird Girls rounded out the cast. Seussical also featured the imaginative handy work of technicians led by senior Nichole Stubblefield, junior Alexis Aguirre, junior Shanah Stautmeister, junior Jamie Duong and senior Taylor Hodges.
