Free seminar to focus on prevention of teen suicide

Champions Christian Counseling, along with several other local hospitals and The Jason Foundation, will host a free seminar focusing on youth suicide prevention and awareness.

The seminar is scheduled for April 17 at the Tomball Community Center, located at 221 Market Street.

Youth suicide is the third leading cause of death among those ages 15 to 24, and the second leading cause of death for college-aged youth.

A lunch will be held from 11 to 11:30 a.m., with the program to be presented from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. RSVP by April 9 to reserve a seat by calling Carol Gooch at 832-392-1097, or Champions Christian Counseling Center at 281-357-4111.

The Jason Foundation, Inc. provides seminars at no cost to professionals, parents, schools, churches and to the community in general and is a nationwide teen suicide prevention organization, with 83 offices around the country.
