Happy is a one-year-old female Dachshund Terrier mix. When AAR found Happy she was in so much pain and could not walk. She was taken to the vet and x-rays showed the bone in her leg was shattered. It appeared as if she was thrown over a fence and the bone in her leg broke into pieces when she landed on her front leg. Happy’s leg was not able to be repaired, so amputation was the only option. She is now a wonderful, happy, sweet, affectionate and loving girl. She has adjusted well while maneuvering with only one front leg. Happy is fast when running around playing with other dogs her own size. She is great with all people and is almost potty trained. She is taller than a regular size Dachshund and weighs about 18 pounds.
