Magnolia collects more than $72,000 in warrant round up

Magnolia City Marshal Jeri Carpenter along with Montgomery County court officials participated in a statewide Warrant Round Up last month. City officials collected $72,900 in unpaid fines and cleared almost 240 warrants. This year a total of 173 agencies across the state participated in the round up. Magnolia beat out 99 other agencies in the total number of warrants served. Houston Municipal Court cleared 31,617 warrants and collected more than $9 million in unpaid fines. Waller County cleared 161 warrants and collected just over $15,000.

Sir,
Any and all positive information about Magnolia is greatly appreciated but I'd like to make one correction on the above article. We worked together, the Magnolia Municipal Court Clerks to collect on these warrants and it couldn't have been done without them. Montgomery County Court Officials are fantastic but did not work this Warrant Round Up with us. As City Marshal I worked them and was on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and the clerks worked a lot of hours on their own time to help in any and every way. Thanks, appreciate the correction.
