Lyon Elementary awarded Distinguished Progress Award

Lyon Elementary was recognized at Magnolia ISD’s April 13 board meeting for earning the Distinguished Progress Award. According to the district, there were only 17 schools in the state to receive the award, which is given to Title I schools who were Academically Acceptable in 2005-06, Exemplary or Recognized in 2006-07 and Exemplary in 2007-08. Mark Croshell of Region VI ESC presented Tammy Haley (Lyon Principal) with the award. Pictured are the Lyon teachers and staff, Mark Croshell (left).
