Magnolia foundation donates thousands to community groups

depot day 1 Magnolia City Administrator Ryan Kelley is the victim of a chocolate pie attack by Hannah Welch at Magnolia’s Depot Day May 16. The event featured arts and crafts booths, food, moonwalks, and tours of the historic train depot. Magnolia Mayor Jimmy Thornton and the Magnolia Community Foundation donated $1,000 each to the Magnolia Education Foundation, Shining Star 4-H, the Magnolia Rotary Club, the Montgomery County Food Bank, the Amobi Okoye Foundation, the Tomball/Magnolia YMCA, the Magnolia Lions Club, Society of Samaritans and the Friendship Center. In addition, Brandon Scales and Cecil Bell III were awarded $500 scholarship each for their work during the recent Magnolia Music Festival
