| Waller ISD announces 2009 Summer Food Service Program |
|
Waller ISD announced last week the sponsorship of the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), offered by the Texas Department of Human Services. SFSP provides nutritious meals to children in Texas during the summer when schools are generally closed and the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program are not in operation.
Any child from 1 to 18 years of age is eligible to receive breakfast and lunch at no cost. Persons 19 and above who have been determined to be mentally or physically disabled by a state or local agency may also be served a meal. The SFSP will be located at Roberts Road Elementary and Waller High School cafeterias June 8 through July 1. Breakfast is from 7 to 8 a.m. and lunch is from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Waller High School will close the meal service once allotted meals are served. Roberts Road will remain open through the entire meal times.
Any group of children can be designated as a food service site. If you would like your location to be a food service site, such as a Vacation Bible School, contact Whitney Johnson or Stephanie Dalton in the WISD Food Service Department central office at 936-931-2347.
