Lions Club installs new officers for 2009-10

The Tomball Lions Club held its installation of new members at a June 13 ceremony. Robert Harris has been elected as the club president for the 2009-10 term. Harris has been an active member of the Tomball Lions Club for more than a year.

Preston Dodson was elected to serve as the new club secretary, while Naomi Kleb was elected treasurer. The club’s vice-presidents are Ron Chene and Michael Bradfield.

The club was chartered in April 1982 and has worked to provide assistance to the needy in the community by providing free eye exams and glasses and raising money for various charities in the Tomball area. Local charities that the Tomball Lions have aided include TOMAGWA, Habitat for Humanity, Tomball Emergency Assistance Ministry while supporting area churches that serve the less fortunate.

Proceeds from past fundraising events have benefited Tomball Lions Club Scholarship funds for handicapped students enrolled in 12-plus hours.
