Last year Montgomery County Emergency Assistance distributed food to 2,435 low-income Montgomery County residents – including elderly and children.

“It is our hope to receive enough food so that we don’t need to turn any families away,” said Executive Director David Hwa. “Our supplies are critically low, as are other food pantries in the county. The economic crisis has put a severe financial strain on many families as they try to make ends meet.”

Food donations can be dropped off at Montgomery County Emergency Assistance located at 1022 McCall Ave. in Conroe from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Those who would like to hold a food drive in their neighborhood or place of business, contact Dawn Theaker at 936-539-9211.

Montgomery County Emergency Assistance is a private non-profit agency that assists Montgomery County residents who are experiencing an unexpected financial crisis or need.
